For more than 30 years, it's brought together more than 20,000 visitors each year. Gulf Coast Chinese Lantern Festival – Theodore, AL

The Gulf Coast Chinese Lantern Festival is returning to the historic Bellingrath Gardens and Home in 2026. The already beautiful structure transforms into a wonder of interactive artistry featuring 40 light sculptures hand-built by local artists. From 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Thursdays through Sundays, visitors can drop in between April 16 and June 21. Snacks are available, and evening dining begins at eight o'clock.
